As you study a card, note your impressions and jot down a few keywords. Compare them to the keywords on this worksheet. Do the keywords given on the worksheet make sense to you given the impression of the card?

Yes, then keep the keyword. No, delete and put in what intuitively feels right to you. Beginners should study with keywords, as that makes the tarot a whole lot easier to digest.

As you develop in your studies, keywords will be fleshed out into statements, affirmations, thoughts, metaphor analysis, astrological correspondences, other cultural, ideological, theosophical, or semiotic references, elemental dignities, etc. Then one day the advanced practitioner will set all that aside and return full circle to keywords.

Elemental dignities is the chemistry of tarot. This tutorial explains what elemental dignities are and how to apply them in readings. Tarot is intuitive and creative. It is spiritual. The intuitive part is crucial. Nonetheless, the beginner student has to start somewhere. Print them double-sided, cut into quarters, and voila! In fact, I strongly recommend doing that. I first wrote about this course that I put together here. Learn how to integrate the Five Components into tarot readings to offer even in-depth, holistic insights to your clients.

Fantastic read! Like Liked by 1 person. I am just starting to learn tarot, and these are exactly the kind of things I was looking for to help me organize my thoughts, including the traditional meanings, and my own interpretations. Thank you! Thankyou for sharing it. You are so generous! Pingback: Found this site of free tarot card flash cards - Ashes and Wine Tarot.

After looking over a number of the articles on your webb site, I truly appreciate your way of blogging. I bookmarked it to my bookmark webpage list and will be checking back soon. Plese visit my website as well annd let me know what you think. Hi I wonder if you could give me some guidance. I am near the end of a created tarot deck and I am looking at how one uploads a tarot online for people to use interactively… eg templates or how to guide.

Any guidance would be much appreciated. Blessings Odette. Odette, that sounds like an amazing project and I want to follow your journey! Do keep me posted. Unfortunately I have no knowledge or experience in that area.

Are you looking to publish the deck and offer it for sale? Or just use it digitally? I have no idea. I am looking at possible options. If you have an online presence, which it looks like you do, post a couple of high-quality images of the deck.

That way you can gain some traction and buzz. You may go the self published route and even create a phone app that will be interactive, or you can go the traditional publishing route and after generating buzz, your deck can get picked up by one of the major publishers.

You never know till you try, right? It sounds really interesting. I have no issue gaining attention through my web, blog and FB page when its ready to go. The more specific and focused your question, the more appropriate and valuable your answer will be. Again, it's a function of synchronicity.

If your question is vague or unformed, how can the cards give you clear answers or responses? If you approach the cards wanting an answer to a certain question, yet when you select the cards you are thinking of 50 other unrelated things, the answer you get will often not make sense.

Clarity and a ferocious focus will be reflected back to you by mind-blowingly insightful readings. The pre-written text will give you the feeling that each card conveys when it is selected in a certain position in the spread.

If the literal text does not exactly fit your question or circumstance, it is usually fairly obvious how you can 'read between the lines a little' and translate the message to suit your personal situation. With an automated system like this, it's very tempting to immediately repeat a reading if the answer you got was either not what you wanted to hear, apparently inaccurate or a bit confusing.

As long as you have followed the previous tips regarding clarity and focus, the first reading will always be the most appropriate. Consulting the cards many times a day, day after day, is completely self defeating, as repeating a reading too soon for the same question will usually create more confusion, not more clarity. A good rule of thumb:- until the circumstances surrounding your question have changed, don't ask again!

The obvious exceptions would be readings specifically designed for regular consultations, like our Daily Outlook 8: This is not an exact science! There are no absolutes in Tarot. Use our readings as a kind of mirror - a way for you to examine a reflection of your life, thoughts and emotions at any given moment in time. Making critical life decisions based entirely on an automated online tarot reading would probably not be a good idea!
